HHA House Sign-up Procedure and Placement

  1. House sign-up will begin at 9:00a.m on March 29, 2010 for the upcoming year.
  2. Returning players of any HHA team (House or Travel) from the previous year will get primary placement on the team for which they apply.   (Application must be made AND registration fees paid for a specific team within a 48 hour time period from the 9:00a.m. start of registration or the player is placed in general registration)
  3. Siblings of any HHA player (House or Travel) registered from the previous year will get secondary placement on the team for which they apply behind #2 above.  (Application must be made AND registration fees paid for a specific team within a 48 hour time period from the 9:00a.m. start of registration or the player is placed in general registration)
  4. General registration will make up the remainder of the roster spots (behind #2, and #3 above) on each team on a first come first served basis from the start of the registration process.  (Application, and registration must be made and paid in order to be placed in order on a potential roster)
  5. Rosters will continue to be filled to the maximum number allowed by the HHA by-laws.
  6. When Rosters have reached a maximum number as established in the HHA by-laws, a waiting list will be established on a first come/first serve basis.  Multiple house teams can be formed with a number of players acceptable for splitting teams equally by the Hockey Director.
  7. Players choosing to play at a level higher than their eligible birth year team may do so ONLY with the approval of the Hockey Director and to claim an open roster spot after normal registration has closed.  There will be no priority placement for the skaters.
Parents of players trying out for travel teams within Holland Hockey Association are encouraged to register and pay registration fee for a house team in the event your child does not make the travel team.  They will be placed according to the following:

Player trying out for travel team.
  1. Parent registers player for house and pays deposit.
  2. Child skates at the travel tryout.
         a.  Child makes team - name is removed from house list and deposit is transferred to travel fee.
         b.  Child does not make travel team - name remains on house list in order of priority for team in which player was originally signed up for.

Holland Hockey Rate Skate
Holland Hockey will conduct a series of rate skates for all house skaters (Dates TBD and will be posted on the Holland Hockey web site) for the purpose of evaluating skaters for 2010-11 team assignments.

Length of season
Holland Hockey will commence early September 2010 and conclude in Mid March 2011.  Number of games allowed varies on age group level.

Player Jersey Information
Holland Hockey fees do not include Home and Away jerseys and socks.  The 2010-11 charge for jerseys is $108.  Players have the option to use the 2010-11 jerseys and socks at no additonal cost to the 2010-11 fees.  It is the intent for HHA to attempt to honor Jersey number requests when at all possible however, duplicate numbers may prove to be a problem each new season.  Holland hockey asks that players ordering new jerseys give 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice numbers on the uniform order form.

House league information
The Adray League is a program that is made up of house teams from Grand Rapids, Holland, Muskegon, Big Rapids, Cadillac, Battle Creek, and Lansing.  The league office will establish the 2010-11 schedule.
